Recent Happenings

 All the Clayton Daughters got together for a night out. We enjoyed a fine Mexican fare from the Sonora Grill. Yum! Then played games at the park. Don't worry, Annie came prepared with a table cloth so we wouldn't get infected from the picnic table...you never can be too careful! :) (Especially in downtown Ogden.) I don't think the camera stopped flashing the whole time we were there. Marrying into the Clayton family is the closest I will ever come to feeling famous. :) It was so fun to spend time with all the girls and hear some good stories of how each of us met our spouses and the crazy days of dating. Also, this was the first night I had ever had swelling in my feet. SO EXCITING! EDEMA!!! ha ha. Only I would get excited about that. But when you are constantly evaluating for edema on old people and then you see it on yourself...Ok, maybe that wasn't something to be excited about but I did just the same.

 We received a baby carrier from some friends of ours that are moving to Arizona for med school. We are sad to see them go. James and Stacie, if you read this blog know that we will miss you! They have been one of our favorite people to hang out with while we have lived in our little basement apartment. They had a little boy while we lived here, he came about 12 weeks early and spent 5 weeks in the NICU. He is a healthy little 9 month old now and busy as can be just being a normal baby. Amazing what medical miracles are preformed everyday now.

A good old friend of mine got married a week ago at Draper's Historical Park. She looked radiant and even though it was hot we were all happy to see her marry her true love. Hooray Julie and James!

Lets see, what else have we done that hasn't been caught on film...we got LION for all the computers. Adam was very excited and loves all the new features. Though I may not get as excited about it as he does, I'm still excited to see him excited.

We had the Goff Family reunion over the 24th of July. Uncle Darrell made T-shirts for everyone and Grandpa insisted that we all wear them. :) They were great. We had a good time just floating in the pool, making crafts and grazing on some delicious food!

We made our annual visit to Grandpa Art at the Alta Club to watch the Days of 47 parade. It was great. It is seriously such a treat. We enjoyed some funny stories from my dad's past and Grandpa's past as well. One was about when he was first married and living in NY. They lived in a trailer right on the Hudson and they would go water skiing in the middle of the winter fully clothed. One summer, one of the boats got a hole in it and started to sink. The owner said it was a gonner and sold it to Grandpa for $10 as it went under. He had it dragged out, repaired and everything worked perfect. Good investment. Ha ha.

We saw the movie 17 Miracles to end the day. It was a great film. Make sure you bring some tissues.

Let's see...Can't seem to think of much else that has gone on. It's been an eventful month of July. :)
