Wilson Avenue

Despite a few things still needing a place we have officially moved into our new home on Wilson Avenue in Salt Lake City. We live in the basement of a really sweet 85 year old lady. She is super nice and just needs a little help with the yard. We have really downsized from our last place square footage-wise but amazingly everything fits here and it really feels more like our own place because we get to decorate everything the way we want. (Meaning no big wooden circle from Thailand in the living room and our own bookshelves etc. etc.) We love it!

The bathroom is the smallest room in the apartment but we have found ways to get everything in its own place.

We set up the Ikea bookshelf and decided that it would work better as a dresser for Jessica's clothes. The red boxes are some of the last that still need to be sorted and put away.

The closet in the bedroom is only big enough for Jessica's clothes, but luckily there is a mini closet off of the kitchen that is just right for all of Adam's clothes...(and tools and vacuum etc.) We are still deciding if we need a bed frame or not.

We were lucky to get the leather couch from the office. We love it! Thanks again!

We love that we got to decorate. We haven't yet hung all the pictures but we're almost done.

Notice that Jessica's sewing desk and the computer desk are matching except for the pink knobs on Jessica's drawers. There isn't any AC anymore :( The previous tenants could be heard upstairs by the landlord through the air vents, so she removed them and sealed the holes over the summer... so, with a couple of fans we are able to keep the place cool enough.

We also got the old table from the break room at the office which is perfect because the sides flip down giving us more space if we need it. The closet to the right of the table is Adam's mini closet.

While the kitchen looks much smaller as well, it is actually built much much better than our old place. So we actually have a ton more cabinet space and are able to easily fit everything into them. We are super happy here!

Though is looks cozy, your clever decorating and organizing will make it work well. I love the little reminders -- pictures, quilts, and dishes that make it your special paradise.

Oh, and BTW, we have a low profile bed frame at our house if you want it.

Super cute! I feel like I've just been to visit. Our first apartment had many similarities.

I LOVE IT! It looks more like home. Way to decorate. Is it a one bedroom?

It's so cute! So fun to finally have a place that you can make your own. Congrats on the move! We have yet to finish hanging things so hats-off to you for already getting that done! xo

Congrats! One positive we enjoy about a small place is you think twice about buying things because of limited space! We loved living in that area and I am sure you guys will too.

It's darling. What a great place to live. I love how you've decorated. Sounds like you have a sweet upstairs neighbor too!

Way to go! Darling apartment. That's nice you'll be so close to school too. Crazy she sealed up the vents and makes you suffer so she can't hear you. Weird. But good job making it all fit!
