Today we got to go collect our bounty at 7:30 in the morning. That might not seem too early to some of you but with all the packing going on this week it was a little hard to get out of bed that early on a Saturday. We were able to get there a few minutes early so that we could be in and out and collected our goods in less than 20 minutes.

I wanted to find out just how much we saved when we got home. The Co-op only costs $15 bucks for each basket you purchase. This is the reaping of one basket:
1 celery
4 red peppers
2 stalks of broccoli
1 head of green lettuce
1 lb strawberries
1 lb carrots
4 lbs grapes (we got double because we didn't want a cantaloupe
3 lbs 10 oz bananas
3 lbs peaches
3 lbs pears
3 lbs 12 oz tomatoes
Total cost if purchased at the store: $30.18 (and most of this was on sale at the store)
Price paid with food co-op: $15
Check it out at www.bountifulbaskets.org to see if there is one near you! TOTALLY WORTH IT! You can get up to 3 baskets of fruit and veggies and select sites also offer bread baskets, ethnic specialties and sometimes even meat!

We belonged to one of these when we lived in student housing. It is a great way to feed your family for great prices.
Awesome!!!
My M-in-law just called me about this site on Sunday, I guess now with two recommendations I'll check it out. Thanks!
That's fabulous! I need to look into that.
