Our new place...

Well in case you hadn't heard yet, Adam was accepted to the U for grad school. He will be pursuing a PhD in Microbial Biology (the degree will actually be in biology, but he will be working in the microbial biology program). Classes start August 23rd so we started looking for a new place to live. Shortly thereafter Jessica received a call from her friend Abi (the same friend that Jessica was a bride's maid for a few weeks back). Another one of the bride's maid's grandma has been renting out her basement and the previous tenants had just moved out so we were notified and immediately went to check it out. It is located right off of foothill on Wilson Ave. If you know where the Red Hanger is, it is the next street south of 1700 S. We will have a parking place for our car, and motorcycles. We don't even have to pay for utilities!
The grandma lives upstairs and is super nice. She was adamant about no cats being in the house. So we're hoping that the people who rent the house after us will be willing to take our cats (don't worry, they've been transitioned to being outside cats now). Otherwise we will have to put them outside up in SLC and we're worried they will run away, being in an unfamiliar place and all. It's similar to our current house because the grandma wants us to shovel the snow and mow the lawn and take care of the yard, but after taking care of the yard at our current house, it will be a cake walk. Its about 1/16th the size of yard. We'll post more news as it happens.

Congratulations! It looks really sunny for a basement apartment and no weird wood paneling or anything. Super cute. Not like a basement pad at all! Way to go! Welcome to life near the U. When do you move?

It was so much fun to open your blog and see so many posts on it. I just love to read your news. We're way excited about this lovely, sunny apartment and such a nice situation so close to the U. Hope Jessica can transfer her job closer to you also. The cats -- well, good luck with having that work out also.

Congrats on the great home find and the program at the U. So sad to hear about the no cats. She must be allergic because who couldn't love cats??? If we didn't already have two, we might adopt them. We are excited to see you more this summer.

That's wonderful! I'm so glad that all worked out. You and Daniel and Kenzie will be neighbors! Nice looking place too. Sweet kitchen and utility deal. Way to go!
